Genesis 5.1.3 Released (Genesis Freezing Fix)

Lambda has released a Genesis 5.1, the version major revision to Genesis 5. Genesis 5.1 contains a bunch of new features. Read on to find out what is new in Genesis 5.1.

October 14 Update: Genesis 5.1.2 has been pushed out! One of the focuses of this update has been to fix the freezing issues that people have been reporting when playing streams in Genesis 5.1.1. In addition, the YIFY scraper has been fixed, which is one of the most popular HD movie sources. Check out what lambda had to say about this update:

October 10 Update: The Genesis 5.1.1 update has been pushed out and should automatically update on your Kodi box! As promised, the lockups that some users were getting when playing items from your library are fixed and you can now use your library like normal. Just before the weekend ends, Lambda has released Genesis 5.1, the first major revision release of Genesis 5. The new release contains a ton of new features to improve Genesis for everyone! Genesis 5.1 includes a ton of features to speed up the add-on and it now gives you progress loading bars when you are searching and playing a stream so that you know things aren’t frozen.

Another big change in Genesis 5.1 is that the year is now apart of the library metadata, which means that you should no longer get the wrong version of a series added to your library if the show you want shares a name with another. Unfortunately, this means that TV shows must be re-added to your library again!

Read the Genesis 5.1 change log below and if your Genesis hasn’t auto-updated by itself yet, follow the installation guide below!

NOTE: If you are experience lockups when playing items added to the library via Genesis, a fix is coming in the next version. Play through add-on in the meantime.

TV Shows must be added to your library again to create the proper structure. It now includes the year to avoid incorrect matches.

Note from lambda regarding latest release (Genesis 5.1):
The only guaranteed way to resolve issues with TV Show mismatches in library is to
1). Run Isengard or higher (update if necessary).
2). Remove any TV Shows previously added to your library via Genesis.
3). Add the TV Shows back to your library using v5.1.0 of Genesis.
Before removing the shows you may want to create a list in Trakt that includes all the shows. You can then add this entire list to your library instead of having to enter them individually. Obviously this will not be necessary if you are importing your entire Trakt collection or using some other method to add all shows to library at once.
The code introduced to correct issues with TV Show mismatches is not compatible with Kodi releases earlier than Isengard. The new code is not applied to versions of Kodi before Isengard to maintain compatibility. This is why you must upgrade to Isengard or higher to take advantage of the new code.

Open Kodi and navigate to SYSTEM > File Manager > Add Source > None
Type the following EXACTLY http://fusion.tvaddons.ag and select Done
Highlight the box underneath and enter a name for this media Source like “Fusion”. and then click OK
Go back to your Home Screen and then to SYSTEM > Add-Ons > Install from Zip File > “Fusion”
Select xbmc-repos > english > repository.lambda-1.1.0.zip and wait for the Add-on enabled notification
Select Get Add-Ons or Install from Repository (on Isengard) > lambda Add-on repository > Video Add-ons >Genesis > Install
Wait for Add-on enabled notification
